The Asheville Hotel is a reincarnation of what was the legendary-Historic Windsor Hotel located in Downtown Asheville, North Carolina.

Historically The Windsor served as an urban boarding house to many transients and part time renters for weekly and monthly stays. The original Windsor in the early 1900's was located a couple buildings up the street what was then called South Main Street. In 1960 The Windsor moved to its current location at 36 Broadway, where it has remained one of the very few boarding houses in the city.

The recent change in ownership gave way to an idea that has been a long standing community desire; to create a fun, hip, small art hotel supporting local businesses while attracting the laid back, 30-55 year old, experienced traveler who seeks out this genre of specialty hotels.

The Asheville Hotel will have 28 smoke free rooms and lobby. Each room is uniquely created by a different "team" showcasing individual talent as well as local stores with owner David Madera as head designer and project manager.

This not only supports our arts heritage but also creates a primarily locally based economy all wrapped up in an ambient shell and interior small enough to feel like a community old style boarding house with many more amenities.

The Asheville Art Museum is participating by helping access artists in the area while they celebrate their 60th year anniversary. A grand opening party will not only celebrate our opening but also the museums anniversary.
