Mission Statement:
To provide a hip, healthy and artistic environment each time one experiences our 28 room downtown Art Hotel. Each guest is treated as uniquely as their rooms; offering a plethora of well-appointed amenities and packages tailored to one's own needs and desires.

Current Concept and History:
The Asheville Hotel is a reincarnation of what was the legendary-Historic Windsor Hotel located in Downtown Asheville, North Carolina. Historically The Windsor served as an urban boarding house to many transients and part time renters for weekly and monthly stays. The original Windsor in the early 1900's was located a couple buildings up the street what was then called South Main Street. In 1960 The Windsor moved to its current location at 36 Broadway, where it has remained one of the very few boarding houses in the city. The recent change in ownership gave way to an idea that has been a long standing community desire; to create a fun, hip, small art hotel supporting local businesses while attracting the laid back, 30-55 year old, experienced traveler who seeks out this genre of specialty hotels. With 28 smoke free rooms and lobby. Each room is uniquely created by a different "team" showcasing individual talent as well as local stores with owner David Madera and Madaras Design Ltd. as head designers and project managers. This not only supports our arts heritage but also creates a primarily locally based economy all wrapped up in an ambient shell and interior small enough to feel like a community old style boarding house with many more amenities. The Asheville Art Museum is participating by helping access artists in the area while they celebrate their 60th year anniversary. A grand opening party will not only celebrate our opening but also the museums anniversary.

Objectives:
Our commitment to the planet is one of our top priorities as we utilize as much local, green and organic supplies as possible. We encourage guests to forgo daily linen washing to conserve water and we have installed water filters and shower toiletry dispensers to discourage plastic bottle waste. The CafÈ-Lounge will use biodegradable to-go containers and beautiful mugs and pottery from local potters and glass blowers. We will have metal water bottles with our logo for sale for those who want to go hiking, biking or just wondering around town. Utilizing local talents and vendors is a goal we will continue to pursue whole heatedly to help grow our local economy and cut back on energy waste from trucking in supplies. We chose to use green and energy efficient equipment, cleaning practices, supplies, furnishings and lighting. With that includes the utilization of antiques and mid century modern furnishings mixed with hand crafted and newer items in an eclectic setting. Our desire is to create a beautiful, fun, comfortable and conscious alternative for travelers who seek laid back style and excellent service. Our concierge staff is well informed and connected to ensure positive relations with other businesses in the downtown and surrounding areas, creating partnerships for packages and travel specials. We also intend to provide locals with a hip place to hang out in our lounge or in the upcoming CafÈ. This will allow locals to enjoy the space equally while meeting tourists from all over the globe. Our goal is to implement solar power for some of our heating and hot water needs.
